I'm not positive, but I think it's the HP 600 series. They sure look just like 'em and HP sold Mac versions of these printers in the 90's, badged as "DeskWriters" rather than the PC version "DeskJets." John

Well you are right, and I just posted the link. the 4000 series won't
work without it, you must have it to make the printer OS 9 compatible.
Before it came out, people were substituting an HP driver.......anyone
know anything about that? I don't know which one.
