I can tell you that I had a damaged modem port with my 7300 after a severe lightening bolt close by, there was no physical damage, the external modem got bust too. OK. It was the modem serial port. I could not get it to work with the new modem, so used the new modem on the printer port instead. The modem port would not work on my laser printer (needing apple talk) but, curiously enough, would work for HP deskwriter inkjet. In other words, the damage can be subtle and one can get by. But in your case, sure both ports not working? What have you done exactly to test this? If you are confident of your tests and both are damaged, then I can't see better than getting another PCI Mac, they are cheap enough - to get parts to repair both ports would be a pain and the best supply would be in known working PCI mac and then of course, why bother, just use the working one ...
