In fact you should probably turn OFF the Apple extensions, and just leave the Toast ones.

Good idea, but which extensions? There are five with "USB" of one type or another in their labels: USB Device Ext, USB Mass Storage Ext, USB Mass Storage Support Ext, USB Software Locator Ext, and USB Support Ext; this doesn't include the two Kodak USB extensions (these I can identify).
