IE 5. may be unstable on machines with low RAM, small MHz processors, older OSs, but it is simply not true that this would be the case with Monique's 7500 with a 300mhz Sonnet upgrade processor, 288MB of RAM and OS 9.1 - the original set up that this question arose from ...
For what it's worth, IE 5.1.7 on my 200 Mhz 5400/200 with 88MB of RAM works just fine.
