I think if you clean the cache, you will find Netscape 4.8 is faster than IE....and the newest IE is 5.1.6, which is free to download.
put the cache on a ramdisk and increase the memory use for netscape (a little more than double was it?)
iCab is also very fast, and now has a version that will work til xmas
