A careful inspection of the pc board attached to the crt (on the Multiple
scan 15) revealed that many of the solder joints on the larger wires and
most of the joints on the large IC (Matsushita MM1200 543?) were cracked.
Two hours of prodding about with a soldering iron seem to have fixed the
problem with the red (your description, Ben of the fault as 'blue cast' is
accurate too, of the fault on my display i.e. we have the same problem).
