The Disk Utility in OSX seems to be much improved compared to Disk First Aid from System 9.1 and below, but I'm sure it can't do everything. The ReadMe with the Disk Utility says that for serious repairs it may be necessary to resort to the use of a commercial product, but makes no suggestion as to which commercial product Apple approves of.
(I would like to apologize right now for the last word in the last sentence in the paragraph above. I know that the use of dangling participles is frowned upon in this List but the sentence grew awkward and unwieldy as it progressed and I had to finish it off somehow.)
Seriously, folks, is Norton SystemWorks 3.0 a program to be avoided ???
If so, what should I get instead ???
I have DiskWarrior, but it does not do everything. What it does do it does extremely well but it doesn't do what NUM does.
If I don't get the latest version of Nortons Utilities what should I use to repair files and de-fragment hard drives with multiple OSes on them ???
When my old PCI MacClone does start up off the utility installer CDs, it always starts up using the System 9 resources.
