I got a Sonnet also that was about half the size of my 604e 200MHz. But
it really is a G3 300MHz/1M and is far faster than the 604e. So go for
it, stick it in, load the software, and make sure you take out the
external cache first! It took me so long to figure that one out.

Subject: Sonnet card

--- OK I got this Sonnet card on ebay. Here's the
numbers: PPCG3-400-KIT-07 It's a 400 1M. It's for my
PM 8600. It seems much smaller than my 180Mhz card i
now have. Is this OK? I downloaded Version 2.03 from
Sonnet. The "kit" notation worries me. They always
show pictures of a small card and a much larger card
in their website. I'd rather ask you all first about
this. I haven't installed this card UNTIL I hear from
you all. I've done Sonnet cards in the past and had
great sucess. However i realize doing the wrong thing
here can really mess things up. I read your
letters-most of them anyway. From David sweating his
tacos off in S. Texas
