I only know about the 2GB Jaz Drive, however, you must have the power cable and adapter and plug that into the drive. Once that is plugged in, the drive will automatically power on and the green light will light up. You will need an appropriate cable for it to connect it to your computer. If I were you, I may just return it. The Jaz are mainly useful for backup if anything at all. Each firm has their projects they mess up on and i think the Jaz was iomega's. It does hold an amazing amount of capacity, but it is painfully slow. And don't think i mean just kind of slow, it is really slow. very very slow. No hard feelings toward Iomega, their Zip drives are the best and their other devices are great as well
My 2$
Jesse
Hi all,

This isn't exactly on topic, but I hope someone can help anyway. I just
bought an Iomega Jaz drive (the original SCSI, 1Gb external unit) to use
with my PM9600.
I've received the drive, but can't test it out properly, as I don't yet have
the appropriate cable to attach it to my Mac, or any disks. I tried plugging
it in, but it doesn't seem to power on. Does this mean the drive is
defective, or do I just I just need to connect it to a computer or insert a
disk in order for it to operate? There doesn't seem to be any on/off switch
on the device.

Any help at all would be appreciated as I only have a limited time to ask
for my money back.

Cheers,
Adam.
