The only Zips I've had problems with lately are the older Zip100 IDE internal drives.
I did read a few user reviews of the Jaz drive today, and about 2/3 of them were negative - 1GB and 2GB models. Good thing mine was free. :>

That's interesting. Maybe it's just the Jaz 2GB. I've found them to be slow. I havn't had any experience with the 1GB disks. Zips work great, I have only had one go bad over about 10 years, and that was just recently. On Tuesday, September 9, 2003, at 02:24 AM, Jesse Stanford wrote:
I only know about the 2GB Jaz Drive, however, you must have the power cable and adapter and plug that into the drive. Once that is plugged in, the drive will automatically power on and the green light will light up. You will need an appropriate cable for it to connect it to your computer. If I were you, I may just return it. The Jaz are mainly useful for backup if anything at all. Each firm has their projects they mess up on and i think the Jaz was iomega's. It does hold an amazing amount of capacity, but it is painfully slow. And don't think i mean just kind of slow, it is really slow. very very slow. No hard feelings toward Iomega, their Zip drives are the best and their other devices are great as well
