In the USA, there's a Radio Shack near almost everyone, and the battery is usually about $10 at Radio Shack. $12.99 @ Radio Shack (a distinctive purple battery made in Israel. The same company which provides the batteries for something called E-Z Pass). However, if you live near a Frys, they carry it for about $6. However, be careful, as they also carry the version with wire leads attached, so don't just grab a 1/2AA off the rack without looking at it.
