Greetings,
I am using OS 9.1 on my Power Mac 6500 and thought this was the last OS I could install. I recently came across a free program called OS9 Helper and it is supposed to patch the computer so 9.2 can be installed on older Macs. Does anyone have any experience with this program and what advantages would I see by upgrading to 9.2? Thanks.
Some say you get some speedup and better stability. You get better video support: you can use cards like the ATI Radeon 7000, but others report continual problems and Apple says the changes between 9.1 and 9.2 were largely confined to OSX compatibility issues.
However. I'm firmly of the "If it ain't broke...don't fix it." school of system upgrades.
