I recently came across a free program called OS9 Helper and
it is supposed to patch the computer so 9.2 can be installed on older Macs.
Does anyone have any experience with this program and what advantages would I see
by upgrading to 9.2? Thanks.
Pardon this digest-induced delay. In fact, you may have already heard. Heard about what, you say? Well, there's no trouble in River City, and I'd be surprised if a significant flock of OS 9 users hadn't at some time heard of and in almost as great numbers used "OS9 Helper" to install way up to OS 9.2.2. It's essentially free. It works beautifully; did on my PowerMac 6500. OS 9.2.2 may also provide a bit more stability. Certainly makes your machine able to handle several more applications than it could previously. Last, it's simple. Final last, it does no harm.
