Here's a question: If you were going to set up a wireless network in a building (say, one like the one my office is in: an old school building), sharing the Internet and maybe a laserprinter among some PC's and some PCI Macs, what hardware would you buy?
The Macs are the most important part of the network, in my opinion (the PC's are wired into the Internet already, in one room; the Macs are strung out throughout the building. Here's another question: What Mac software would you use to set up sign-in and sign-out for users of a public computer room? It would be nice if they could come into the room and see an older Mac (say, an LC 575 - but an older PCI Mac is ALSO an option) and be able to sign in right there. At the end of their session they would click on their name on the screen and with the click of a button sign out. I suppose one could do this with Web technology, but I need to have a log of computer time. So a database would have to be attached to that Web technology.... t -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
