The only real advantage is that it comes with a slightly improved
OpenGL version and allows you to install the latest drivers from ATI
for their Radeon cards. I have heard that there is some software
that requires 9.2.1, but haven't come across it myself. Unless one
of the benefits interests you, I'm not sure it is worth doing the
upgrade. I used it briefly and found it slightly faster (maybe) but
slightly more unstable.

Maybe so, but I've concluded that I can't get my son's 10 GB iPod to work properly without 9.2, or at least as much of it as OS9 Helper loads. What's even worse, he has a PM 4400 running 9.1, and OS9 Helper won't work with it.

If anyone knows how to get an iPod to work with OS 9.1, I'd appreciate
hearing about it.

The last OS 9 version of iTunes only requires 9.0.4 and USB ports to work, although 9.1 is required for CD burning and 9.2 is recommended (but not required)
I believe that Ben is working on making OS9 helper be compatible with all the powermacs, so you can either email him and wait or use the older patcher method. Remember to back up your data first :D
