Much obliged Chris.
I've heard of Sound Jam as well. I wonder if it's a free download.

Well, in a manner of speaking, it is.

SoundJam was bought from Casady and Green by Apple. Apple used it as the framework for iTunes.

There's pretty much no place you can legitimately download SoundJam from.

But, as it's not for sale anywhere and Apple owns the rights to SoundJam, and isn't selling it either, and yet gives away iTunes, the next generation of SoundJam, it's a bit of quandary if you want SoundJam. For all intents and purposes, SoundJam no longer exists as a product. Can you pirate or steal what doesn't exist? When did the PCI PowerMacs list become a philosophical salon?

Anyway, as I said earlier, "While no longer legitimately available, a request on the alt.binaries.mac.applications.retro newsgroup will likely prove fruitful."

It's up to you to determine for yourself if you want to get SoundJam via that binaries group.

You might be able to find a CD via eBay, which would be a lot less ethically ambiguous. And there's several metric tons of sample MP3s on the CD, too.

That said, it's an outstanding application. It's my player/ripper of choice for playing CDs, MP3s, and listening to streaming MP3s via the net on my dialup connection.
