By import I mean I've inserted a audio CD and launched iTunes to play it then I want to import it to my iTunes library by clicking the "Import" button which converts the aiff file to mp3. It starts the import alright but about 10 seconds in, it crashes my machine and I have to reboot. Has anyone else had this problem with iTunes on this list?
I've found that SoundJam MP works flawlessly at ripping CDs. Drop in the disk, tell SoundJam to rip it and then eject the disk to let you know it's done.
I've got a hacked version of iTunes v.1 running on this machine. I've not ripped any tracks with it, though, so I can't comment.
If you're having such troubles with iTunes, I'd recommend that you try something else. There's no reason to put up with an application that essentially doesn't work as it should.
