For printing contact sheets I use "ImageBuddy" found at http://www.kepmad.com/ I can't tell you if it's the best as I don't know other programs that do this. What I like about it is that it's simple to use. You can print contact sheets and you can also print customized layouts, resize photos, etc. It works for me even under OS 8.6 on a 7600 with Sonnet G3, printing to an Epson 740. Just to view a folder of photos to see what's there, maybe delete some, re-name them as you go, I really like SimpleSlide by Zino Software, www.zinosoftware.com This is postcardware.
