It's worth saying that there are numerous bugs in Panther that are a PIA even on a new 
G4/G5 (see macfixit.com, et al).

Apple have seeded 10.3.3 to ADC members in the past week so it may be worth waiting.

FWIW, my G3 iMac is staying at 10.2.8 until I see more positive results than negative 
ones.
