FireWire timing is screwed up. SCSI Timing is even more screwed up. All of us playing with 10.3 with Ryan Rempel's XPostFacto 3.0a11 setup are tearing our hair out because while there is stuff Ryan has to fix, also the SCSI timing bug has caused massive trouble in LegacyWorld. The cynics among us might think that Apple did it on purpose but then they screwed up the FireWire also so they shot themselves in the foot.


Apple have seeded 10.3.3 to ADC members in the past week so it may be worth waiting.

FWIW, my G3 iMac is staying at 10.2.8 until I see more positive results than negative ones.

I have seen a major speed boost on my G3/400 from using Panther. The thing was practically obsolete running 10.2 but it's a reasonable workstation now albeit a little stodgy at times - I blame the ATA33 bus myself!
