Anybody used a Sonnet Cresendo/7200 in their 7200? Somebody offered me one
at a reduced price, but I'm not sure if I should get it since the 7200 isn't
CPU upgradeable. I'm going from a 7200/120.

The version I can get (for about 1/2 retail - $120) is the 500 Mhz G3 w/1 Mb
cache.
WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

I started out with a 7200 . The PCI slot accelerators were new and expensive. And limited to the PCI bus speed which I believe is 33 MHz.
I chose to get a motherboard with a cpu slot instead to get the higher bus speed possible.

But the 500 MHz (?) cpu speed should still give good performance even through the PCI bottleneck limitation.

In addition it's also a matter of budget and your comfort with swapping parts.
