I'd guess you're right about the 128Gb limit - Mine's only 7GB so I never have to worry about it. The PCI riser card from a 6500 can't be used because it's too big to physically fit in the gap. As for providing the power, it could theoretically because a) The Boards are exactly the same and b) The 5500 board generates it's own PCI power. The GPU supports up to 1152x870 in Thousands of colors, but the Built-in display only supports up to 1024x768 (and is pretty bad at that resolution). I'd recommend 832x624 in Millions of colors!
