Sometimes Netscape even quits automatically without any error messages at all! Sometimes the computer appears to have frozen, but when I do a "Force Quit," one application quits, and then I am back in business.
I also get lots of Finder errors, telling me to close and save everything, and restart. Many times I can still work without closing and restarting, sometimes not.
Any suggestions?

reinstall the OS or start with a good clean OS on another disk/partition to see if it goes away, check the versions of your software, check the ramchips for errors - thats what I would have done, my 7300 behaved just like that before I installed OS 8.5 instead of 7.5 that was on when I got it, I solved it meanwhile by using finder fixer to increase the amount of memory assigned to the Finder application.
