All you need to do is: 1. Hook a standard ethernet cable to the router from both the XP machine and the Mac. Make sure you don't use the Uplink port, and don't use the WAN port. 2. On both machines, make sure the TCP/IP is set up to use DHCP for everything. On the Mac this is done via the TCPIP control panel. On the PC, its done in the network setup (you can use the network wizard if you like, or just modify the adapter settings directly; Let us know if you need more info). 3. Hook the DSL to the WAN port on the router. 4. Make sure the router is configured as a DHCP server. This should be the default. That's it.
