Not always Russ. Once I got a flatbedscanner without a pass thru AND without an internal terminator. You had to use a cable-terminator. I used one from Apple (590-0348-A). The scanner was a Trust, so you may understand. And I had a very early MicroNet box for 1 or 2 SCSI HDs. Using 2 disks you always had to terminate internally, using a flatribbon-cable-terminator. Using 1 HD you could use this or an external cable-term. The box came with both. I don't have the fl.r. term. anymore.
