Does it have a pass thru connector, i.e. a second connector to allow another
device further in the chain? If it doesn't, its probably internally
terminated. I have used an old Epson scanner that was this way.

My Syquest SyJet cartridge drive has a pass through port but it will auto self terminate if another device is not attached to the pass through port.
In other words if a device has a pass through port it may not necessarily need an external terminator.
