Thanks to everybody who has replied to my question. Perhaps if I was a bit more specific. The machine in question has a XLR8 G3 processor, 512 RAM and currently runs Quark, Freehand & (occasional) Photoshop under OS9.1 and I use it regularly at one of the studios where I do freelance work. (If I want to do serious photoshop work I borrow one of the better spec G4s). It is fine for for the 95% of work that I do.
There is now talk of upgrading the whole place to OSX (including native software so that there is no need to run in classic) however the majority of macs are some years old and there is concern as to how some of the machiones that are doing a good job now may be compromised under OSX. The 7600 is the oldest workstation and the G4 card will improve on the current performance should it remain on OS9. So really my question is to anyone who has a PCI mac (with some sort of acceleration) that ran Quark, Freehand and Photoshop under OS9 and now does the same under OSX whether everyday tasks now seem slower, faster or no different than before?
