I tried it with both an Apple Multiple Scan 20 and an NEC MultiSync XV17+ monitor with same results. I swapped in a Twin Turbo card briefly, with same results, but I didn't go looking for drivers for it.
Thanks for the help so far, all of you that have replied.
Try a PRAM zap. The monitor size settings are stored there and if it gets corrupt it might munge things.
Try booting off a CD-ROM. From there you could try changing video resolution using the control panel on the Harddisk.

The 7600, like my 7500 can display up to 1152x870 with the stock 2Mb VRAM. And that's at 16 bpp. No, that's not the problem.
