With all due respect, I believe the B & W requires OS 8.5.1 to boot. Where did you find an 8.5.1 (or newer) floppy boot disk? Not mention the B/W does not have a floppy drive.

Never even seen a B&W G3, I'm just throwing out some standard troubleshooting tips. I used to do some freelance repair work and I've found that most computers are fundamentally the same.

The 7.5.5 floppy was for my 8500, and I'm sure there's a floppy image out there somewhere for >8.5.1. You don't have to write the image to a floppy, mind you, any media will (theoretically) work, like Zip disk, USB/FireWire drive, other hard drive, CD--whatever the B&W supports boot from.
