You can't always use both ports, depending upon your set up. I don't remember 
seeing what yours is, but on mine(7500/100 w/8500MOBO upgraded w/Sonnet G3 
400 & ATI Radeon 7000), something had to be disconnected from the onboard video 
I believe to make room for the ATI card, (Previous owner did the upgrade) so 
the onboard video port is unusable. However the ATI card has 2 ports.

If the VRAM DIMMs are removed from the logic board then the video port on the 
logic board won't work. However, there is no need to remove the VRAM chips to 
install a video card. I believe this applies to all the 7xxx/8xxx PCI Macs.
