You're right that's just a bad floppy... A standard 3.5 inch floppy when
formatted for a PC has always been .72MB or 1.4MB using 8bit FAT. They have
never been and nor will they ever be anything else!

For any volume smaller than 500MB 16bit FAT is pretty close to being a
universal format. I swap an a single external zip drive and number of 100MB
and 250MB zip disks formatted that way between all my machines. Mind you
here's what that translates to.  AthlonXP/2600 (WinXP) B-G3/300 (Yellow Dog
Linux 4.0), K6-2/500 (Mandrake Linux 10.1),  6400/200 (OS 9.1) As you can
see those machines really don't share much of anything.

If the prices on Sawtooth's drop like I expect them to with the event of the
Mini Mac. I'll be getting one of them so I can setup an OS X box.
