Yes you must remove the FAT 16 DOS partition first (unless you really want
one) then you can format the 8GB drive as one large FAT 32 partition.
Windows 98 converts from FAT 16 to FAT 32. If you start from scratch using a
Win98 startup disk, it will ask you if you want "large disk support". This
is asking if
you want to use FAT 32. Say yes and your drive will be formatted in FAT 32.
