Sorry Peter...since I don't have Windows 95 installed anymore and
haven't used any Lotus products since my old helpdesk days, I don't know
why you had a problem with the Lotus Suite and Office on Windows 95....I
know I DID have that setup on my old laptop when I did remote support
for the helpdesk company I worked for and I had no problems running that
combo. I even ran Lotus Notes and Outlook side by side without
problems.

So far, the only software I have seen that can cause major problems with
Office is Adobe Acrobat, which installs add-ins to Word and Excel so you
can create pdf files from within these programs. And, that problem is
not universal...just in some cases and I really don't know why it
happens, except that when the addin tries to load when you open the
Office program, it often gives people error messages and makes the
progam un-openable.

Hey Peter...I didn't think you were criticizing my capabilities and I
don't often even mention that I am MOUS certified....I only mentioned it
in this case because I was replying to a post that said you can't enter
25e5 into a cell that is formatted as text and have it displayed
properly. I was just trying to show that I have a bit of experience
here and use all the versions of Office....I wasn't blowing my own horn
or bragging and I sure hope it didn't sound that way ;-)

Many people in the field of Office support do indeed install multiple
versions of Office on the same drive/partition, but, in my experience,
it causes too many problems and headaches so I prefer to put the
different versions on different drives or partitions, but that's just my
preference. I am fortunate to have enough computers and partitions to
do this...others aren't so fortunate.

Linda, I am curious of your support capabilities and what hardware you
utilize, I'm not questioning your prowess in the usage of Office.
Having been employed in support capacities before I have found some
certification holders who simply wave their paper around like they are
the
gift from the gods to the end users, usually to the end users chagrin
unfortunately. Perhaps you've met the type who won't support a user
unless
the user does use the latest everything and that all of the users
questions
are yes or no based only.
You are not in that league what so ever.

Do you happen to have a list of software known to be problematic with MS

Office? I know Lotus Smart Suite 97 when put on the same partition as
Office 97 (base install) was problematic in windows 95, I still have a
few
win95 users I support with both of these apps (on separate partitions of

course :)
