I think we went over this before. As I recall, you are going through some arduous process just to reply. Harold, just simply click "reply", that's all you have to do. Then highlight and delete the footer, and email header except for the email address of the sender(s). You don't need to start a new message in Word, copy and paste from emails to Word then back to an email again. You're causing yourself all kinds of work, when all you have to do is "reply". "Re:" Is automatically added in a reply designating it a REply, and showing others it's a reply and not an original post. ;-)
You can get FTP programs all over the place for free. I use WS_FTP LE, I like it MUCH better than the Pro version. It's just too complicated to type in an email how to use one, since you never had. They are kind of complicated to use at first glance and first use. Very easy once you know how. See if you can figure it out by reading about it, and trying it out. If you can't, post what you're having a problem with and I (or someone else) can help you. http://www.ftpplanet.com/download.htm BE SURE you use the ASCII mode, if not you'll ruin all of your pages. Binary is only for images. FTP all of your pages onto your HD in their original format, and COPY THEM to another folder as a backup. They must be downloaded, AND UPLOADED in ASCII format. Once you have them in the original format and in a folder, you simply run a 'find and replace' program, tell it what to what to look for and what to replace it with. I wouldn't use Word, you don't need that. Your pages need to be in HTML format, with their .html extension in tact for easiest results. In fact, this is the only way they can be uploaded back to the server. FIRST you have to be sure your hosts offer FTP transfer. Not all do. I know that stands for "file transfer protocol" but do not know how to use it. Seems if I knew that, I'd have marginwidth="50" substituted for most of my blockquote's on all my pages "all in one shot" I already have the pages on my HD (in a word document with all the html tags in place) ... that's my backup. Exactly what are you asking me to download from GeoCities ... where each page is spelled out on its own GeoCities editor and then saved to their main site, where a teeny tiny part of it is mine (well, almost mine). Speaking to a FTP newbie, how would I do that? How would I make one change on all the pages in one folder that is in the File Manager of a GC website, and do it in "one brief shining moment"?
