You've probably checked, but in case you haven't there may be
newer drivers than your using, but even the newest drivers are
probably going to be pretty old.  Also try searching for the
CTxxxx number and see if you can find any newer that way.  If I
remember correctly, even for ONE OS there is a BUNCH of
different drivers & software for this card, you may need a
different type than you're using.  You may have better luck
@Google than Creative's site since they don't support it
anymore and probably have very few downloads for it.

When this happens, hit cont-alt-del and see what's running, see
if any apps are still open that you've closed.  The card could
also be bad.  Sometimes a different slot helps.  Diagnosing
these things is hard when the PC isn't in front me.  :)
