I use Inboxer www.inboxer.com or the free version minus a few features http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/ This uses the popular Bayason filtering. (Statistical and probability formula)
I have tried: SpamNet iHateSpam Norton Anti-Spam (Uses Bayason, but I forget, it leaves something out like it will not learn or something. Also has crashed OE several times) Inboxer catches 95% of all spam. Our ISP at work catches 90% since they added their spam protection. Add that with Inboxer to a 99.9999% success rate.
