I never got that original post for some reason, nor the original post about Weatherbug. Helene, if SpyBot and AdAware tag it as such (like you stated in the post at that link), well.....that might tell you something. Did you ask this guy to explain that? NO ONE is ever going to admit their software product is Spyware. Every one of these weather alert/info type programs I've heard about has indeed been some type of malware. In all fairness to the guy, theirs may not be, but I tend to believe more what AdAware and SpyBot state. So I'd be curious to know his explanation of that. -Clint
God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://OrpheusComputing.com ) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ben Moore" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> PCWorks messages are available through a Google search. I'll bet that's where they came up with your posting. I have found my own posts come up in searches. And I've had individuals write me about things I had responded to in a PC Works thread that they discovered on Google. Monitoring what people on the internet are saying about your product is a pretty good idea. Too often rumors get started about things that once they are out there on the net can't be stopped. Ben Moore -----Original Message----- Hi All. I just got this in my email.. I can't believe it.. I never contacted them. at ALL.. Just posted back, to PC Works, in reference to an email.. but NEVER to them.. You've gotta see this.. Scary. Here goes. Helene Dear Helen: In your link http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg08537.html There is reference to WeatherBug as spyware. Not only are we NOT spyware, we have been invited to join COAST (Coalition Against Spyware Technologies), we offer 4 free downloads to some of the most popular ANTI-spyware programs right from our FAQ page (www.weatherbug.com/help and click the Spyware link) and we are a member of the Dept. of Homeland Security Initiative. Oh yes, we're also in 7000 schools, universities like Penn, Maryland, Texas, BYU, Wisconsin and dozens of others you've heard of, and over 30 million folks have downloaded our program. And we just partnered with AOL Instant Messenger to offer our live, local weather program to their 30+ million customers. Please add this to your posting and let folks know- if they have a question about a company, ASK THE COMPANY. Please let anyone know they can email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] with questions about "spyware" or anything else about our award winning product. Thanks for the time and posting this.
