Hi Dale, Try here: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=316512 In a nutshell, it says to un-install & re-install AOL and gives instructions for doing so. As for apropose, not too much info out there that I found..but try these links http://computercops.biz/postp51516.html and http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,9313031~mode=flat . At least you'll know you're not alone :-), and they do offer a few suggestions. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

I've had it three times now in the past month. How do I get rid of it? I sign onto AOL and before I can do anything I get an error message called: Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Error. Inside the window is a red circle with a large white X in it. Next to that it says, Runtime Error! Below that it says, "Program C:\programfiles\americaonline8.0\waol.exe Below that is: Abnormal program termination. Below that is an "OK" button. When I click it (I can't do anything else, the cursor becomes a circle with a slash through it when I move it anywhere else on the screen), it shuts off AOL and I have to start it up all over again. While I've got you, does anyone know anything about Apropose? Everytime I get off line and run a spyware scan it ALWAYS picks up Apropose. I block it and then delete it and the next time I get off line, there it is again. How do I get rid of this permanently? I didn't have it a few weeks ago. Where is it coming from?
