I would guess that one from AOL isn't very good, and it's certainly not going
to tag and remove AOL spyware. I mentioned before you need to use AdAware
for example. http://lavasoft.element5.com/support/download/ Be sure you set
it up properly, and BE SURE you UPDATE its definitions before each time you
run it, or it won't work as well. You have to go into all the
settings/options area, and "tweaks" area, to be sure it scans EVERYTHING, and
deeply. Try that one first since SpyBot can be problematic and it doesn't
always remove what it says it's removing. After your run AdAware and remove
any malware, run it again to be sure it removed it. Then, if it shows up
again it's going to continue to show up due to either sites your visiting, or
software you're running. Then it will take "SpywareBlaster" to hopefully
prevent you from getting the malware in the first place, or SpyBot's
"resident shield" which is also a prophylaxis against malware. I recommend
those regardless.

I thinking of doing that anyway, but I think I'm going to wait until I
get a few things on the hard drives straightened out and just reinstall
everything onto the 250 gig drive instead of the 40 that it's all on now. In
fact,
just might buy another new drive and reinstall everything onto that and send
this one back to Gateway.

Yes, sorry, I was spelling the word instead of the program name. But

I don't recall ever getting any kind of a reply about this from anyone. I've
been looking and never saw one.

Enter Apropos spyware @Google and you see all the info you > need.

Thanks, Clint, I'll give it bash later tonight.

You also never replied as to which malware-removal program(s) you are >

About a month ago AOL said that they had a free one, so I dl'd it and
it's found three spys so far, besides Apropos. I think it's just called, AOL
Spyware Protection.
