The barcodes are probably vector's, try deleting all other objects using the
touch up object tool then resave the pdf and place it into an image box in
quark. Alternately you could open the pdf in illustrator and copy and paste
the elements you need to a new file, be warned illustrator is not a pdf
editor and the pdf may not open as expected, fonts missing etc.

If the object is an image -- in the preferences set the touch up image
editor to PhotoShop (works with 7 but not 5)control click on the image with
the touch up object tool and select edit image from the contextual menu, the
image will open into PhotoShop.
