In my experience the Word export in 5 or 6 either doesn't work correctly or works badly. That may be because I'm doing something wrong, although I doubt it. Has anyone tried to do an "Save As" from a PDF with embedded fonts and some formatting with Acro6, if so, let me know how that's working for you. I've used Jade and Drake from BCL and it did a good job when I was working in Acro5. It's pricey for a one-trick-pony ($199) but if you don't have any way to get the source file, or print/scan/OCR.

>>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 1/28/2004 3:07:39 PM >>> 1. You have Acrobat 5...it does not have the "save as Word file" feature.
2. You use the text touchup tool and highlight the text you wish to touch up...just like in a word processing program. Then you type over it. Note: you must have the font that you are trying to use for the touchup installed on your machine.
3. Acrobat 6 is a full-version upgrade...it can be purchased from Adobe for a nominal price.
4. Why not just have the original creator of the PDF make the change and send you a new PDF file?

I tried both suggestions. No luck. I have Acrobat 5.0--could be why I can't save as MS Word .doc??
I tried the touch up tool. Went to Touchup Text, then Text Attributes, and didn't know where to go from there, it wouldn't let me select any of the options. Under Text Breaks all options were shadowed.
When I tried the Save as, I don't have any option for MS Word or to save as a .doc file. My options were Adobe PDF files, Encapsulated PostScript, JPEG files, PNG, PostScript, Rich Text Format, Text (Accessible), and TIFF.
I tried the Text (Accessible), thinking it sounded like I could "access" the text, and therefore edit it, but, of course it just gave me a sort of WordPad type file of all the text in the document.
The file is a brochure which does not belong to me, and so I will have to get permission before sending it to you to edit, but thank you for all your help?
Oh, if I have Acrobat 5.0, can I get a free upgrade to 6.0??
Thanks,
I really didn't expect anybody to send very much time answering my question.
