When you use the Virtual Printer using the Acrobat PPD, you print a Postscript file. You need to make sure when you begin the print process to open up each window in Quark's print dialog box and check your settings. One of the windows is your print driver window. You need to make sure the function to download all fonts is activated. If the font is activated, then the Quark print driver may not be including the font in the PostScript stream. PDF-Basics is a service provided by PDFzone.com | http://www.pdfzone.com/ __________________________________________________________________ The Helvetica is a PS font. I am using Adobe ATM. I am sure the font is activated if that makes a difference. I am not quite sure what you mean when you say: "Try opening up the Helvetica Font within Suitcase or whatever font utility your using with Quark then write the postscript and make sure you include all fonts (True Type & Postscript) within it." What does "write the postcript" mean and how exactly do I do that? In my experience when postscript is written out of Quark; the registration marks along with the type that gives you the date, time and name of the Quark Document that the postscript was created from is usually in Helvetica - don't ask me why Quark uses Helvetica for it. Try opening up the Helvetica Font with in Suitcase of whatever font utility you using with Quark then write the postscript and make sure you include all fonts (True Type & Postscript) within it. Now distill it again and see if that fixes your problem. I am not going to say that this is going to fix all of your problems, but if you can get rid of this one, then you are well on your way. [-1] The note within the distiller dialog box is below: (I did search for the Helvetica font and added it to the "always embed" dialog box in distiller. In fact, even a very simple test quark document I did had the same Helvetica error when no Helvetica was in it! Is there a problem mixing TT and PS fonts?) Thanks for the help. Also what version of Quark and Distiller are you running with the lastest patch level? Are you trying to make these pdf's for a printer, if you are have you consulted with them on what you settings should be? They set up a virtual PS printer (my local and network printers apparently are not postscript printers) so I could get the distiller to run through that. I am still getting postcscript errors and they said that now I need to reinstall Distiller. Any idea where I can get that? I can't see how I can load just that alone from my Acrobat 4.0 installer disk and Adobe only has downloads in English up to 3.0. I am really getting frustrated and have been struggling with this issue for two weeks. Help!!
