2) If I'm going to press, my first choice would be to use the print Adobe
PDF printer. If I don't have that option, I would PostScript and Distill.
Whereas when I'm going to press, my first choice would be to PS and Distill. After almost 4 years of our illustrious designers creating Press optimized pdf's of around some three thousand pages a month and experiencing v. little reported problems from our printers. When they have, on occassion, phoned me or emailed to highlight a problem, invariably it's designer error (overprints, knock-outs that sort of thing).
Incidentally, slighlty off the point I know but I can't remember the last time we experienced a Postscript error (such as one we used to regularly encounter I think if I remember rightly was something like -8133) when writing to file for distilling purposes.
Maybe Rich or Leonard could explain this better as to why it's all but disappeared..........gratefully!!
