Well, if you've built pdfedit successfully under andLinux using the
delivered configure and make files, then perhaps I'll abandon cygwin
and give that a try, although I've wasted so much time trying to get
THIS version up and running, that I'm not sure my client will tolerate
futher delay: I wanted to try pdfedit's tools in order to solve a
problem with PDF file processing we need to do, although I saw enough
accounts of pdfedit being a very useful program that I could see other
ways we might make use of it, if I can ever get a version of it
running.

It is version 0.4.5 that you managed to build under andLinux? Does
andLinux behave itself under Windoze XP Pro SP 2, or is it going to
run amuck over my registry and disk and stick its nose into
everything, and insist on rebooting me and crawling onto the internet
and installing things without asking me for permission first? At
least cygwin looked as if it knew its place--a rare quality in
software, nowadays!
