Well, if that's the case, Mr. Davis, would you be so kind as to tell
me the version of cygwin and the version of pdfedit you compiled
without difficulty under it?

I installed the latest cygwin (version 1.7.7) and tried both pdfedit
0.4.5 and the one just prior to it, I think 0.4.4.1 if I remember it
right--perhaps if I back up to the versions you used I'll be
successful.

Also, do you remember if you ran configure with any switches, or just
straight up?  Ditto the make.

If possible, I'd like to follow the same procedure as you did, with
the same delivery files, and see if the build goes through without a
hitch as it did for you.
