Nikon is already producing and selling digital cameras with the capability of mounting all of their existing newer 35mm lenses. Canon has started doing the same. So far, it's only top of the line "pro" expensive stuff, but if it takes off this will surely change and more lower level stuff will be made for us non-"pros".

I doubt that Pentax, with their already good record of equipment compatability, can afford not to notice this trend. (Didn't they start it, really, with their 35mm stuff?) What this may mean, however, is that eventually it may become more and more safer to spend money on good lenses rather than on expensive bodies...
But I personally think that stage will take some time to come yet. And digital and analog still co-exist comfortably in many other areas. (Watches, anyone?)

Plus, we in the U.S., with our higher standard of living, tend to think that everyone lives the way we can. IBM's ads not withstanding, there are billions more of us without computers than with.... -Hell, 80% of the word's people right now live without a personal telephone!! (And I don't mean cell phones, either.) So who's going to give up on this huge market still out there for film amd film cameras? Not any business types in their right minds, methinks...)

There have already been many, many, sea changes in photography. If you want to see a short personal recollection of such things, check out my previous post called "Teleconverters and other questions...".

I just plan to enjoy. Use whut I got, right now, with pleasure! (After all, nothing is permanant...)
