It appears that having FARE enabled makes no difference, it does seem to reduce the noise if i scan the image in vuescan with a long exposure pass. However all this , its still a great scanner for the price. Regards, Paul< according to my sources at Kodak that looked at the images Doug uploaded, the color noise is film grain. Herb....
