One was a Fotomat 24mm f2.8 macro. It was a pretty decent lens and focused fairly closely. The front element was semi-spherical, similar to the K-35 f3.5. If memory serves me, I bought it on ebay for less that $100.
The other third party 24mm lens is a Ricoh Rikenon 24mm f2.8. I bought it as part of a package deal with an ME-Super, and Tokina 100-300 f4. It's a decent lens and in non-flare conditions does quite well. It is not very good with flare though.
I sold the Fotomat, still have the Rikenon and also a K-24 f2.8. I don't use either very much, though.

I am also interested to know about third party 24mm lenses: sharpness at full and smaller apertures, flare resistance... prices on eBay... I am sure Tamron is part of the game.
lenses which would suffice if you're careful how you use them in flare producing situations. That is unless you have a deal you don't think will ever come around again, and this doesn't sound like one.
