  Add to this:
    d) when in shutter speed priority mode (Tv, aperture ring on A),
  the hold switch locks the currently selected shutter speed and
  prevents its accidental change by touching the main dial.

  Overall, I think your description will prove accurate.
  
  I always wondered if/how Pentax will manage to add a hyper-manual to
  MZ-5N's exposure interface. Here it is, a simple and well thought
  approach. We have Hyper manual - Tv - Av - P all basically
  integrated with one dial and one button while the aperture ring acts as
  a selector between manual and Av on one side and P and TV on the other
  side.
  The only thing Z-1p users will ever miss is setting the aperture
  from the body in half stops increments. But if the main dial allows
  setting shutter speeds continuously (in half/third stop increments -
  does it?), then it's an acceptable loss to me.
