That would have been me. One of the things that made the camera so
bewildering was that the rep who showed it to me was one of the few who
actually knew how to use the camera. That meant that he flipped through the
features very quickly even changing some of the functions, so it was hard
to remember just what did what. Then I got to handle the camera for a short
time checking the obvious.

As I remember there is a way to set the aperture with the control dial. One
of the problems is that as you change this setting, or that setting, the
control dial does different things. For instance, when the camera is on Av
the control changes aperture, when it is on Tv it changes shutter speed as
,IIRC, it does on manual mode. At other settings it changes modes. While
this sounds like all the other electronically controlled cameras, it still
can be easily used as a basic camera just by playing with it a bit, and if
you get lost the green button brings you right back to the most basic
settings.. That is better than most of them I have handled where you really
need the manual to use in anything but program mode.

I think that what is going to have to happen before one is going to have a
good knowledge of how everything works is to sit down with them manual and
the camera for an hour then shoot a couple of rolls of film through it.
According to the rep there are only a couple of preliminary copies of the
manual in the country, basically for the guys who were showing the camera at
PMA. There may also be changes in software prior to actual shipments.

So, I guess what I am saying is that speculation as to the nitty gritty
details is at this time just that, speculation.
